Our Academics
At Canaan Montessori Homeschool, we are proud to follow the principles of Montessori education rigorously. Our teachers are required to be certified by the American Montessori Society in both regular and Chinese Montessori programs. We set our standards very high in being responsible, respectful and providing a comfortable learning environment to every child.
Chinese
Bilingualism is the highlight of our program. Every child would learn Mandarin in reading and/or writing for at least one hour a day.
Sensorial
We believe children learn by trying. From puzzles to the Montessori Pink Tower, we assist children to experience and learn at their own pace so they are excited about learning.
English
We provide extensive Montessori materials to ensure our children are prepared or ahead when they enter elementary school programs.
Cultural
Our children learn about life and the beautiful world and surrounding starting at a very young age. We love celebrating our differences and can't wait to travel to the different continents!
Mathematics
Each child receives an individual learning plan with appropriate goals in math. Multiple research shows that the Montessori Math teaching method enhances most childrens' cognitive skills to reach their potential.
Practical Life Skills
We don't sit and read all the time! In addition to working on the Montessori materials, we plant our own vegetables, bake cookies, and explore the nature everyday. We encourage our children to explore the world, have fun, and enjoy life!
